Sam’s love affair with writing began as soon as she learned to pick up a pencil.

From age 15 onwards, she lived, breathed and worshipped magazines. And before she knew it, she’d been published in Time Out and the Daily Express and was working as a travel editor and deputy foreign editor.

While browsing in Waterstones’ bookstore in 1994, she came across Natalie Goldberg’s “Writing Down The Bones”. Life was never going to be the same again! Since then Sam has studied several times with Natalie in the States, filled up notebooks galore and run her own writing groups.

In 2002, she was shortlisted for the Fish Publishing Short Story Prize.
